Our Approach & Story

Truthsprout is a non-profit organization that aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals 17, 8, and 4 of the United Nations Development Program.

Truthsprout helps small and medium-sized businesses grow and succeed, promotes social innovation and entrepreneurship, provides career training to help people gain employability skills, and conducts research to inform economic policy decisions.

Dr. Victor Akaeze founded Truthsprout in January 2018 during his fourth year in the optometry program at the University of Benin in Nigeria, which is a six-year program. Victor’s older brother’s struggle to find a job after graduation inspired him to found Truthsprout, a platform that helps young people, particularly in Africa, gain access to the resources and connections they need to create jobs for themselves or develop innovative solutions to address current problems. Victor was concerned about the high unemployment rate and wanted to build an ecosystem for young people to be connected and equipped for a better future.

Over the past five years, the support of dedicated individuals, leaders, and advisors has contributed to the great success of Truthsprout. These individuals, who are passionate about our vision, have helped us inspire and empower more than 2,000 changemakers, social innovators, and entrepreneurs.

Truthsprout aims to cultivate a group of individuals who are dedicated to making positive changes in their communities, businesses, and the world at large. They work towards this goal through various methods such as educational programs, collaborations with other organizations, conferences, publishing materials, and community involvement. The ultimate goal is to foster a new generation of social innovators, career professionals, entrepreneurs, and changemakers who can drive progress and contribute to global and national development.
